Veterans Services

You have served us. Now let us serve you.

If you are a veteran of military service, you have our eternal thanks and we want you to know you hold a special place with us. We have assembled all of our services here for you.

There’s a lot of information here. If you don’t see what you’re looking for below, or there’s something you don’t understand, just email us at david.kuhn@ky.gov, and someone will be in touch with you shortly. Or call us at (502) 782-3092.

You might also want to check out the Kentucky Jobs for Veterans Map, which includes statewide contact information for Jobs for Veterans Programs staff, Kentucky National Guard and Reserve units, local Career Centers, Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs representatives and KCTCS colleges.

Some of the services we can help you with:

  • Unemployment Insurance
  • Finding a job
  • Getting the training you need
  • Specialized services for veterans with disabilities (through our Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and our Office for the Blind)
  • Veteran-specific programs, such as Vets Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP) and the Gold Card initiative (which helps post-9/11 vets with skills assessment, career counseling and job search assistance)
  • Services to employers who want to hire veterans

Our offices have Local Veterans Employment Representatives and Disabled Veteran Outreach Specialists assigned specifically to assist veterans with their employment and training needs.

These dedicated veteran service staff work with other Kentucky Career Center staff, the Veterans' Employment and Training Service, the Department of Veterans Affairs and various other organizations in providing veterans with priority services designed to improve their employability and career options.
